Effective October 21, 2026
The Payment Chef is an independent payments consulting business serving small businesses and nonprofits. Our website is located at thepaymentchef.com. This policy explains what information we collect through our website, our consulting work and our free webinars, how we use it, and the choices you have.
We take your privacy seriously, and we will never sell or rent your information.
Contact form and consulting. When you fill out our contact form or work with us, we collect your name, email address, business or organization name, phone number if you provide it, and any details you choose to share about your current payment setup.
Webinar registration. When you register for a webinar, we collect your full name, email address, business or organization name, the description that fits you best (for example, small business owner or nonprofit founder or manager), the session you choose, and your question if you choose to share one. Our system also records when you registered, a reference for each confirmation and reminder email, whether those emails were sent successfully, and whether you unsubscribe or attend.
Please do not include card numbers, bank account details or other sensitive financial information in any form on our site. We do not need them to answer your question.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting and delivery providers receive standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view.
Consulting. We use your contact details to respond to your inquiry, communicate with you about your Chef's Assessment, schedule meetings and deliver our recommendations. Any business payment data you share is used only to form independent advice and identify potential savings or operational improvements for your situation.
Webinars. If you register for a webinar, we use your information to confirm your seat, send your Zoom link and calendar options, send reminders the day before and one hour before your session, let us know you registered, and prepare the session, including questions sent ahead of time.
As the registration form explains, we may also follow up occasionally with related information, such as a thank you after the session, news about future free sessions, practical payments tips, or an invitation to book a free intro call. You can unsubscribe at any time.
We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not use it for advertising on other websites.
Each session is recorded. By joining, you agree to be recorded. Zoom also shows its own notice when recording begins.
A recording includes the shared screen and the voices of anyone who speaks, and may include participants' display names, chat messages sent to everyone, and video of anyone who turns on their camera. Cameras are off when you join. If you prefer, you can keep your camera off, change your display name before joining, or send your question ahead of time through the registration form instead of asking it live.
We do not use Zoom's AI Companion or automatic transcripts for these sessions.
We use recordings to review and improve our sessions. We do not publish recordings publicly. If we decide to share a recording with attendees, we will tell registrants before we do. We delete recordings within 12 months of the session.
Zoom also collects and handles some information directly when you join, as described in Zoom's own privacy statement.
We do not use advertising cookies or track you across other websites. Our site may use essential cookies that it needs to work correctly and stay secure. You can block cookies in your browser settings, though some features of our site may not work as expected.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are most useful. It is designed to measure traffic without tracking individual visitors. Our hosting provider may also collect standard technical data to run and protect the site.
Because we do not track visitors across other websites, our site does not change how it works in response to Do Not Track signals from your browser.
We use a small number of service providers to run our website and services. Each one receives only the information it needs to do its job and handles that information under its own terms and privacy policy:
We do not share your contact information with payment providers unless you explicitly ask and approve it as part of a consulting engagement. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Our website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to stored form submissions and webinar registrations is restricted to us. No method of sending or storing information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Webinar registrations. We keep registration details for up to 24 months after the webinar or after our last contact with you, whichever is later, and then delete them. Recordings are deleted within 12 months of the session. If you unsubscribe, we keep only what we need to make sure we do not email you again.
Contact form and consulting. We keep this information for as long as needed to provide our services, meet our legal and tax obligations and resolve any disputes.
You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time, as described below.
Unsubscribe. Every marketing email from us tells you how to unsubscribe, and you can also email us at hello@thepaymentchef.com. We act on unsubscribe requests promptly, and always within 10 business days. Confirmation and reminder emails for a webinar you registered for are service messages. If you no longer want them, email us and we will cancel your registration.
Access, correction and deletion. Wherever you live, you can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us at hello@thepaymentchef.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.
Our website, services and webinars are intended for adults acting for a business or organization. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with its effective date. If we make a significant change to how we use information we already hold, we will also tell the people affected by email before the change applies.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, contact us at hello@thepaymentchef.com.
